At FocusCore Group, we are currently working with a great well-established firm within the insurance industry. This leading and dynamic multinational company is looking for an experienced senior level professional with Captive experience to come in as their new Managing Director to be based in Singapore.

The scope of the role is as follows:  

  • Responsible for leading, managing, motivating and developing the skills, competencies and knowledge of team members in line with Group HR policies and procedures, including overseeing and managing of staff appraisals and objective setting
  • Maintain staff competence by ensuring that staff skills and/or knowledge gaps are met with appropriate training and development, so they are able to perform to their maximum capability and fulfil their potential and the requirements of the business
  • Establish an environment that promotes respect for the individual employee and adheres to the policies and guidelines of the company
  • Leading the strategic development and delivery of the regional captive offices to ensure sustainable, profitable growth
  • Budgets and forecasting responsibility
  • Accountability for all matters operational in the region: employees, training, compliance, process and deployment of technology to modernise the service model
In order to be successful in your application, you should be have the relevant experience outlined below:
  • Preferably with professional qualifications in insurance and or accounting & finance (e.g. CPA)
  • Excellent strategic leadership skills, with a proven track record of delivering excellent levels of client service through a large scale, matrixed operational function
  • An experienced leader with proven ability in managing a function to deliver an agreed set of homogenous outputs through well controlled and standard processes.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Good understanding of Insurance products and services
  • High levels of business and financial acumen with an understanding of company strategy, operating environment and business objectives
  • Strong skills in problem solving, planning and budgeting
